Real impact starts with daring to listen.

Well Aware was built by people who know from experience what happens when nobody listens. Today we are proud to help more than 60,000 employees in 24 countries make their voices heard and take action, before it’s too late.

Built with a mission

"If you truly care about people, you can’t keep watching the system fail. We had to build something preventive, safe and, above all, human."

Jelle Houben, Co-founder.

Our story

From a personal loss to a global movement.

Well Aware was founded after we lost a dear friend to burnout, depression and, ultimately, suicide.

Looking back, we realised the signs had been there. But nobody listened in time, and she didn’t dare to ask for help herself.

What began as a personal story has become a mission: to stop wellbeing from slipping away before someone dares to ask for help. The system failed. So we set out to build something that does it differently.

It’s a big responsibility and a fresh take on the way many organisations usually work, but we see our solution making a real impact, and that’s what it’s all about.

Science-based foundation

No vague claims, but proven impact.

Measuring wellbeing is a profession. To avoid confusing good intentions with real impact, we have committed to the world’s most widely used model of work engagement: the Job Demands-Resources model by Prof. Dr. Wilmar Schaufeli, co-founder of Well Aware.

Every pulse question, every benchmark and every action point comes from peer-reviewed research. Our benchmarks are recalibrated every two years against current data from 24 countries.

Mission & vision

Why we exist, and where we’re heading.

Two simple statements. The mission is what we do today, every day. The vision is where we want to be in 2040.

Our mission

Building people-first companies.

We build organisations where what employees say counts as much as what the numbers say. Where direct support is so accessible that barriers disappear, and where leaders get context before problems arise.

Our vision

By 2040, what employees say carries as much weight as the quarterly figures.

We’re working towards a world where a board meeting doesn’t start with revenue, but with how people are really doing. Where a prospect asks about people metrics the way they ask about financials today. Because profit and people go hand in hand.

Our impact

We’re already well on our way.

Four figures that show what continuous listening and direct help deliver for employees and organisations.

Our core values

Four principles. Every single day!

Our values don’t just hang on the wall. They’re the filter we use to make decisions, hire people and build products.

DARE TO LISTEN

Dare to listen.

We listen with genuine interest and hear what is said between the lines. Listening well takes courage. The courage to hear something you might not like, to ask follow-up questions and to take action when needed.

In practice: we read between the lines and have the real conversation. That can sometimes be confronting, but it’s precisely there, in that friction, that the real path to impact and success lies.

BUILD BRIDGES

Build bridges.

People are AWESOME, which is why we’re always looking for real connection. Between employees and managers. Between Well Aware and our clients. We pay attention, we’re thoughtful and we lend each other a hand.

In practice: We’re always there for you. We enter into long-term partnerships. Well Aware is there for organisations that want to grow together. By building real connections with you, your employees, your managers and your existing partners, we reach a level that wasn’t possible before.

SEE THE BRIGHT SIDE

Look on the bright side.

Use your enthusiasm. We’re a positive bunch and focus on what is possible. Yes, the subject can be heavy and the problems challenging, but we stay positive and tackle challenges with a smile.

In practice: We’re there for you in good times and bad. When things get a bit much, when they’re challenging, or when they’re heading in the right direction again. As experts, we take work off your hands and look at everything from the positive side. That gives energy and makes room to think in solutions.

GET IT DONE

Make it happen.

Of course, making an impact doesn’t happen by itself. So roll up your sleeves, make clear agreements, stay sharp and do what you promise. We get it done.

In practice: We make sure it happens, so you don’t have to worry about it. Not just what’s written in the contract, but going that extra step. A real partnership. In return, we expect the organisations we work with to be willing to invest attention and time in what matters.
